Turning On The Spotlight Also Turns Up The Heat
Looks like Eric Mack is going to get at least one of his wishes. After the flurry of posts here and on Eric's site about the lack of install disks for the Tablet OS, and the difficulties this presents to all users who have to deal with the inevitable problems that will occur, several other Tableteers have picked up the call.
Marc Orchant has a great post summarizing the saga with some great opinions.
TDavid has linked in with his thoughts on this and raises some new ones.
Rob Bushway has been linking to all of this as well.
James Kendrick has posted an eloquent Open Letter To Microsoft about the issue that seems to have turned into a bit of a petition if you read the comments. A link to jk's letter is also posted on Tablet PC Buzz.It reminds me of this Dear Toshiba letter I penned just over a year ago. Let's hope that jk's letter gets a response. The Dear Toshiba letter did not.
I hope others will be linking to these conversations as well. Yes, leave your comments here, and on these other well deserving posts. But pen a post on your own blog. Keep the conversation going. That is certainly what Eric and I hoped for in our Friday evening discussion. If there is enough noise out there, someone has to pay attention.
UPDATE:
Michael Parekh has linked into this with the idea of creating tags or perhaps a site devoted to "Company X Hell" reminding us that it isn't just Tablet PC owners that face this lack of customer understanding.
Scoble has also linked into this as well saying he'll pass the info along through channels.
