Tablet PCs In Education: A Different Consenus

Yesterday I posted about the wonderful video from SJSU's presentation on using Tablet PCs in education. You really should check this out. Today via Tablet PC Talk News comes info of a different sort from Bentley College.

It seems half of the freshman class were provided with Toshiba Tablet PCs (the article doesn't specify which one) and the results of the usage study so far are mixed according to a survey by the author, Adeeb Hossain.

He lists some of the complaints which inlcude heavy weight (leads me to believe they are Tecra's or Satellites), not being as speedy as Thinkpad non-Tablets, and a flimsy feel to the units. Some like the Tablets, but according to this author, most don't. Some interesting observations here worth taking a look at, and I'm not surprised by some of the comments if the Tablets are some of the larger models.
