Things just keep getting curiouser and curiouser surrounding Sony's DRM rootkit fiasco. While Sony has released a "patch," quite a few sources are claiming that Sony isn't exactly forthcoming about the root of the problem. Legal and not-so legal beagles are weighing in with opinions that look good one minute and then change the next. There's even word that World of Warcraft gamers are using the Sony rootkit to defeat WoW spyware in order to cheat on the game.
While it may be tough to sort out fact from fiction at the moment, it's pretty easy to see that it's going to take one heck of a root canal to fix this hole.
