New Copyright Protection Law Ready To Hit Congress And You

Not only should you be polticially active in trying to stop Congress from allowing the Telcos to tier off the Internet, (see today's Sunday Morning Reading) you should take a look at the new Intellectual Property Protectoion Act of 2006 that is about to be introduced in Congress. Despite efforts from a number of organizations to scale back some of the predatory, and, in my opinon, original intent busting measures from the Digitial Millenium Copyright Act, things are moving forward with the support of the RIAA and other large copyright holders. For good measure there's some national security interest thrown in there as well.

You might want to take a gander at this CNET article that contains some of the provisions.
