As promised, Rob Bushway has published a video review (InkShow) of the TabletKiosk eo UMPC. Rob not only takes you on a tour of the device but show his children using it and their impressions.
Taken in context with Rob's earlier Initial Thoughts posting (he wisely cautions that you should consider that post and the video review as a total review) he povides an intriguing look at the new device and also raises some interesting questions. I have to agree with Rob, that the "palm resistance" issues when inking with a stylus seen in his review gave me pause considering how I would use one of these devices in my work and play.
Edit Follows
However, I'm pleased to see that Rob has updated his earlier post with news that TabletKiosk informed him that they will be shipping these units with the 120 gram digitizer (versus the 80 gram digitizer Rob's prototype review unit came equipped with.) TabletKiosk has informed Rob that the units will be shipping with the 120gram digitizer which is what Rob was using. I misread his update. So, this is not as good a news as I thought. For those who don't know, these differences affect how hard or soft one must press to use the touch screen functionality.
End edit
We've now seen this review from Rob and James Kendrick's earlier video review, both of prototype units. I would hope soon we'll start to see the real thing so consumers can begin to gauge for themselves what the real deal is. Something tells me we've more to learn.
