DoS On Six Apart Raises Interesting Questions
Obviously the good folks at Six Apart got things righted after last nights Distributed Denial of Service attack. I'm certainly grateful. They seem to have done a good job with not only correcting the problem but communicating the issues as well.
That said, like Michael Parekh, I think the event raises some interesting questions in the Web 2.0 world. Just wondering, would I want my office relying on a web based set of services? Would anybody? We've got enough hooligans an miscreants out there who would I'm sure love nothing more than crippling a few Web 2.0 business models. And apparently it seems like we can all innocently be caught in the crossfire between various web battles between the forces of good and evil.
Michael calls it a new reality and thinks it needs to be discussed more. I think the topic should be World Wide Web 2.0 equals the Wild, Wild West 2.0.
