More DualCor cPC Info
Both Rob Bushway of GottaBeMobile.com and Josh Bancroft of Tiny Screenfuls are blogging some new info on the DualCor cPC that they have gotten from Dave Ciccone, one of DualCor's Board of Expert Technical Advisors.
Some interesting tidbits that caught my eye:
- Although DualCor was reportedly targeting the Enterprise market, the cPC will be available via authorized resellers making it available beyond the Enterprise market even with a pretty steep $1999 MSRP.
- Lots of discussion about connectivity, or the lack thereof, recently when it came out that the unit will not ship with any integrated wireless radios and that users would have to rely on CF or USB solutions for connectivity, although now it looks like the cPC will ship with a Compact Flash 802.11G card.
- Choice seems to be the word why there is no embeded communications choice out of the box, (or at least that's the spin.) Apparently customers didn't want to be tied to any one specific carrier or type of service.
I'm very anxious to see hands on reports about this device in the future. Still 90 or so days out from availability.
