I love reading articles like this one from Wired. It begins this way:
WASHINGTON -- The U.S. financial sector, a powerful force in Washington, may be gearing up to jump into a Capitol Hill fight over the future of the internet and stop an effort it says could add billions in costs just to maintain current offerings.
Let me offer a translation. Now that the Senate has joined the House by siding with the Telcos on the Net Neutrality issue, Wall Street players are getting nervous that their costs will go up, so they join the battle. "Powerful force in Washington" simply means they've got as much money to bribe...er...um.... excercise their free speech on the issue as the Telcos do. Let's see whose money is greener and has more impact shall we.
