Mary Jo Foley's Microsoft Watch is reporting that due to quality issues Microsoft is dropping PC to PC syncing in Vista, at least temporarily. While it is good news that if syncing capability isn't ready they will continue to work to make it so, this delay, if you will, will hit current and potential mobile users the most.
One of the biggest bugaboos for using a Tablet PC or a UMPC for that matter is data syncing. Sure there are solutions out there, but nothing yet comes close to being transparent, and in my opinion, that sort of transparency in sycning data is sorely needed for larger adoption. The geeks out there will find a way bitching and moaning along the way, but native syncing really does need to be a part of the OS at some point soon.
Oh, and in case you didn't notice, Vista Beta 2 is now public. Let the downloading begin.
