Quantas Airlines has issued an advisory to its passengers who use Dell Notebooks following the big recall. According to this article passengers can only use their Dells on battery power or through the aircraft power supply (in business class on some flights) with the batteries removed.
Some airports are operating differently though, with some reports of Dell batteries being removed and the contact points being taped over.
Quantas states they are working with Dell's guidelines. I'm wondering if this is the beginning of a trend?
Today we started. First read-thur and blocking of most of Shakespeare's Act 1. Early returns? Good stuff. Great cast, a lot of work ahead. Nice, no scratch that, thrilling to hear it read out loud. A couple of our board members stopped in for the evening session after a board meeting. Too bad, more don't take up the invitation. We continue climbing Mount Othelllo tomorrow.
Snakes on a Plane = funny. Some idiot letting two live rattlers loose in a theatre = not funny. Why are people idiots?

And the other taketh away. You just knew. After news that the Feds were going to rescind a Federal Excise Tax passed on phone service in 1898 and issues refunds for the last three years, consumers who paid attention rejoiced. Now Verizon has added new surcharges which interestingly enough roughly equal the amount of the tax that has been rescinded. A Verizon spokesperson said she would "strongly disagree" that one was tied to the other. Classic.
Tomorrow we begin our jouney and our adventure with Othello. I'm anxious, thrilled, remote, and full of thoughts bursting from my head as I prepare to get started. No moment, except opening night, is as fraught with so many different emotions as the first read of a play with the cast. This is either going to be brilliant or...

No bashing intended here on the employees who resigned or lost their jobs at AOL after the recent release of customer data any more than they have already been bashed. Instead here's a cheer for something we don't seem much of any more: Accountability. What a concept. Too bad we don't have that in government like we do in the business world.
Oh my goodness. A bunch of us went to see Snakes on a Plane tonight. Silliest, raunchiest, goofiest fun fest I've seen in a movie theatre in a long while. If you don't have a sense of humor and have a queasy stomach stay away. Otherwise grab some friends and go and get ready to scream. Chirs Pirillo and others who compare it to The Rocky Horror Picture Show are spot on. I'm still laughing.
This is an interesting (and long) read from The New Yorker. A series of articles on what the world might look like if 9/11 never happened. Purely speculative fiction and laden with more than an agenda or two. But interesting nonetheless.
Marc Orchant has a fun post about blister pack boo boos and solutions to keep you from losing fingers. He's found another swimming solution similar to the Package Shark and it is called the Pyranna. Two points here:
