YouTube News Strikes A Chord
The news that YouTube is partnering with Warner Music Group to begin distributing copyrighted songs and other content should come as no surprise. I predicted here awhile back that the big entertainment companies would eventually form their own YouTube or buy it up. The move points up three things.
The media companies move like dinosaurs. They take a slow approach to a problem. But then when it is time for the kill, they do it quite effectively.
As others have pointed out this is no different than the Napster story. Control, control, control is the name of the game.
This won't be the last deal.
