Zune Won't Play Plays For Sure

Ok, one word. Stupid.

I lied. More words. According to this report from the Electronic Frontier Foundation, (EFF) Microsoft's new Zune platform won't play DRM protected WMA files. Somebody, somewhere needs to get a clue. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Microsoft's got an OEM base to support on the whole Plays for Sure thing, and they don't want to upset that Apple Cart. Great. Fine. But don't play hide and seek with the news and come clean, unless, wait a minute, could it be, you're afraid it just might dampen enthusiasm for the new move.  That sound you hear is the air rushing out of a Zune balloon.
