On a recent flight as I passed through the security checkpoint I had to stand in one of those air burst detectors for the first time. No big thing. But I guess if I fly through Phoenix things might get a little more transparent. The TSA is testing out the Backscatter X-Ray technology there and of course privacy advocates are up in arms. During the test period it is a voluntary option as opposed to the typical pat down. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out. Folks will be justifiably concerned and I hear applications are up for TSA screening positions.
