The Hammer Comes Down But Does It Hit the Nail?

Viacom dropped a legal bomb on Google today going after copyright infringment on Youtube and asking for $1 billion in damages. Unless you’ve been cruising Youtube videos all day, I’m sure this isn’t news. Like the VC Doc Searls linked to I hope this doesn’t get settled and gets played out in court in front of a jury. Then we might just get to see up the skirts of the players and how silly this has all become. But, hey, that’s the American Way. If you can’t build a better mousetrap. Buy laws that are in your favor, and then use them to go after your competition.
