Apple Blossom 07
Yesterday was a cool day at the Apple Blossom Festival in more ways then one. Not only did we have a blast hanging out with friends and being genuinely silly throughout the day, but the grey, overcast skies kept the day a bit cooler than most would like.
Everyone was decked out in pink and green (except these poodles) and the Grand Feature Parade was the highlight of the day. I had participated as a float judge earlier in the morning. Watching all those beauty queens stand in their gowns in chilly temperatures made me feel a bid sorry for them. But hey, they were troopers.
The highlights of this year's Parade were four groups of Bolivian dancers who really rocked the parade. Fantastic costumes, fantastic dancing, and amazing energy. (Unfortunately, I didn't capture any good pictures of any of the groups.) They rocked. Unfortunately the rest of the parade was a bit draggy by comparison. Wayne Newton was the Grand Marshall.
It was a great day to eat, drink, and be merry with family. Where else do they shut an entire town down for a party? Just too much small town fun.
