A Social Network for the Dead?

Well, I guess there's no reason not to give it a try as a business model in a world that includes Drive-in funeral arrangements. Nick from Rough Type highlights an article from The Guardian Unlimited about YouDeparted.com, a social network for the dead.

Apparently you set up your profile before meeting your maker (timing is everything) replete with pictures, video, and the other accoutrements of the living, and then once you expire, they release the URL to those you leave behind.

Yep, the service has a cost, but get this, there is a 14 day free trial. So, I'm curious. If they URL isn't released until after you pass on, what good does the trial really do you?

Just in time for the Halloween season.
