This cracks me up. The University of Washington got a DMCA takedown notice. The notice was to stop three laser printers from downloading Iron Man and Indiana Jones. Turns out some researchers were checking into who was using BitTorrent for file sharing. The researchers themselves got over 400 take-down requests which led them to surmise that the agencies doing the snooping were only looking at I.P. addresses. The researchers also discovered a way to manipulate I.P. addresses leading the MPAA to go after those laser printers.
