Democrats basically threw in the towel on the wiretapping and surveillance bill, handing the administration a victory and the Telcos immunity for giving up information. Of course the capitulation came after the administration agreed to add domestic spending to the emergency war funding bill.
Maybe the Senate will have more sense, but I doubt it.
