Styrofoam Homes: A Solution for Mortgage Crisis?
Maybe this will help solve the mortgage and financial market crisis, or maybe it will just cause it to collapse. Of course the houses look they could collapse as well.
Japan Dome House Co. thinks they might be on to something by creating these hobbit like homes out of 7-inch-thick foam. Supposedly they are typhoon and earthquake resistant and the pre-fab pieces only weigh 175lbs a piece. From the pictures they look surprisingly roomy inside. The cost is about $30,000.
If these things every took off here, I wonder if we’d see them on lots like mobile homes or Amish garages? At the least it might solve my Intern housing crisis.
