Sunday Morning Reading

Some Sunday morning reading to share on a weekend where our world is changing around us.

Is the havoc that the de-regulators, greedy bankers, scum we call politicians, and consumer culture we’ve lived with for so long killed capitalism and replaced it with socialism, or with fascism?

While our markets are melting down, I’m thinking the devastating bomb in Pakistan will also have serious long term repercussions.

A banker offers his insights as to who is to blame for the financial meltdown.

George Will calls what we are heading into Lemon socialism- the subsidization of the weak. I agree, we are subsidizing the political class, the candidates, and the financial wiz’s in order to keep them from being strung up in the streets.

How close were we to total melt down? I don’t think anyone really knows.

Fox wants one of its reporters voices taken off of a McCain ad because he is an unbiased reporter. Ha.

Maureen Dowd poses a fictionalized dialogue between Obama and Jed Bartlett. If only it was this easy.

One Virginian’s look at the political campaign in our battleground state.

Supposedly Al Franken helped pen this SNL skit. Funny stuff, if it wasn’t so true.
