Love This Multi-Tool Pen

Ok, yeah, I’m a geek, and I also really love gadgets like this 13-in-1 multi-tool pen. Someone add this to my Christmas list will you.

In addition to a pen it includes a hole puncher; a stainless steel file; a short cutting blade; a flat screwdriver; a wire sleeve remover/small nail remover; an ear pick; a long cutting blade; a tweezer; a Philips screwdriver; a stainless steel fork and a saw.

I like the idea of the ear pick.

Hey Joby, June is Gone, Gone

I’ve been watching and waiting for the GorillaPod Go-Go to be released since February. The latest communication (if you can call it that) was a notification that it was coming in June. This followed notifications that earlier said, March, April, May. Wonder what’s taking so long.

I’m Staring a Line Here Locally for the iPhone 3G

I see that a line has already started in NYC for the iPhone 3G. I’m starting one here locally. It starts in my office and shifts back and forth from there to my home.

No point in rushing things.

iPod Stall Surfing Accessories Now on Sale

If you're a stall surfer who uses an iPod or iPhone, this accessory is made for you. Looks like they are on sale at the moment with a 4th of July Special. Is that some kind of play on Independence?

I Want One of These

Just cool. Apparently in the upcoming movie Get Smart, Max uses a souped up Swiss Army knife that contains among other things, a crossbow, a working flamethrower, and a blowgun. I want one. I’m a multi-tool fanatic and think this would be a great addition to my arsenal.

Gizmodo has an interesting run down on this and how the prop was created for the movie. Check it out, and you know what I want on my Christmas list.

The O.J. Chase for iPhones Continues

This is getting almost silly, but then silly can also be fun. Remember the tracking of the those mysterious containers believed to hold iPhones? Now we’ve got a sleuth, Brian Caulfield of Forbes Magazine, on the trail of where they are now. Turns out he thinks he’s spotted them outside a warehouse in Fremont, CA.

What’s Up With All These RoboDogs?

We’re seeing a run on RoboDogs here lately. Why is that? Fascinating that folks develop these things and I’m sure they will have uses in a lot of situations. But I still this as more of  curiosity than anything else.

And here’s another video of another Robo fido called WowWee Wrex the Dog.

Sharper Image Closing Stores

While I don't think I've ever purchased a thing from a Sharper Image store, I've received a few gifts from there, and I love to browse the stores when I get the chance. No more. Looks like they are closing their remaining retail outlets.  Bummer.

Sunday Morning Reading

Some Sunday morning reading to share.

thefuturebelongs219 Gartner takes a look at what they say are the Top 10 Technologies going forward. (via eHomeUpgrade)

The Culture of Ownership offers up a primer on the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement.

Hugh MacLeod on Thinking Geek. We're all geeks on this bus.

The FCC is considering plans for a free nationwide Wi-Fi network. Guess who isn't happy about this?

Newsweek asks are we ready for the coming energy wars. I don't think so.

I find the recent episode of a couple of stoners hijacking Comcast both entertaining and troubling. Mostly entertaining. Have they been arrested yet?

Also intriguing is the back and forth and complete turnaround over the case of that Texas Cult. What the heck went on here?

Karoli wonders if the Clinton Campaign really wants unity. Nah. They want to win.

David Broder on the myth versus reality in our current political campaigns. I love it when we get one of these studies that say what we already know.

The inventor of the Pringles can has died and a portion of his remains have been buried in a Pringles can. Makes sense to me.

GorillaPod Go-Go Still a No Show

I've been anxiously following any news about Joby's GorillaPod Go-Go. I'm not sure which is worse, Joby's penchant for missing shipping targets or Democratic Super Delegates that are holding out from declaring a preference. Something tells me the Super Delegates will come clean first. The shipping of the GorillaPod Go-Go has moved from March to April to now who knows as the web site still says shipping in April. In the end it won't matter because I'm sure the product will be a hit, but it is taking awhile.
