GorillaPod Go-Go Still a No Show

I've been anxiously following any news about Joby's GorillaPod Go-Go. I'm not sure which is worse, Joby's penchant for missing shipping targets or Democratic Super Delegates that are holding out from declaring a preference. Something tells me the Super Delegates will come clean first. The shipping of the GorillaPod Go-Go has moved from March to April to now who knows as the web site still says shipping in April. In the end it won't matter because I'm sure the product will be a hit, but it is taking awhile.

Thomasin Reviews The HP 2133 Mini-Note

My lovely wife, Thomasin, has a new career starting as a gadget reviewer from a decidedly non-geek perspective. Back in December she did a first look at the Asus Eee PC, which we can't pry out of her hands now. And now that GottaBeMobile.com has gotten a review unit of the new HP 2133 Mini-Note I thought I'd get her unvarnished opinion on that ultra-portable device as well. She says quite a lot about both devices and coins a few new tech/gadget terms as well. Head over to GBM and check it out.

Driving Miss Daisy Diaries: iPod Touch(ing)

I love working with actors (ok, sometimes it is a love/hate thing) because you come in contact with some many great people and get to touch so many different spheres of life. Every now and then though, I get an opportunity to work with an actor who is also a geek freak or gadget head like myself. Elliot Dash, who is playing Hoke Coleburn in our production of Driving Miss Daisy, is not only one of my favorite actors to work with (he's outstanding as Hoke, and was amazing as Othello) but he's a bigger geek and gadget lover than I am. Here's a shot of us at the theatre from last night's rehearsal getting all touchy with the the iPod Touch.

Survival Kit in a Sardine Can

This looks like a cool gift idea. A survival kit in a Sardine Can. I hear they gave a bunch of these out to Bear Stearns employees. I wonder if you can carry these through airport security?

The glo Pillow

I'm not sure if this will work or not in my case, or my wife's but it sure looks intriguing. My wife is bothered by the slightest bit of light when she's sleeping, so maybe the glo Pillow would work in her case. Supposedly it starts glowing about 40 minutes before you need to wake up, obviating the need for an alarm clock. It also displays the time on the pillow

One problem I see, is where is the snooze button?

So, Why Do They Call These Smart Goggles?

Maybe it is just me, but this is just too geeky even for me. The Smart Goggles are designed to help you find stuff through object recognition. They contain a camera and a small display attached to them, which is then connected to a small computer. Maybe if you lose things chronically this could be a good idea, as long as you don't look in the mirror.

Fire Starting Flashlight?

Yikes! I'm not sure this is a good idea. A flash light with a beam that will start a fire seems quite dangerous to me.

Whiten Your Teeth With Your iPod?

Yikes. We've seen some bizarre iPod accessories before, but this one makes me smile a little. Apparently you can whiten your teeth with Bocelli, and the louder you crank the music to your teeth, the whiter they get. Oh, my goodness. For a list of many other bizarre iPod accessories check out the roundup at Podcasting News.

Yikes, Now You Can Have That Yule Fire on Your iPod

Oh, my. My wife and I when we get silly after having a bit too much egg nog around the holidays pull out this DVD.  You know the one, it puts a nice crackling fireplace on your TV screen while playing Christmas songs. Well, it looks like you can now get the same think for your iPod. Heck it even works on a Zune. Check out the iYule Log.
