Brian Krebs in the Washington Post's Security Fix column is reporting that Sony is about to come in for some more bad news on the DRM front. Researcher Dan Kaminisky is about to release numbers that indicate just how many networks have been affected.
According to another researcher, Dan Kaminisky:
The net effect is that it's not in doubt that Sony has created a major security event on the Net
Also, researchers have discovered that the uninstaller Sony makes available causes severe security holes. Severe enough that the researchers, Edward Felton and Alex Halderman are recommending that you do not use Sony's Web-based XCP uninstaller.
This ain't going away anytime soon.
