Recently I've been doing some research and reading a bit about the various technologies available to stream media content over the internet. James Kendrick had some interesting info that aroused my curiosity.
As it happens today the owner of Royal Oak Computers who does our office networking and other computer work through a wonderful sponsorship arrangement was in and showing off some goodies. One of the goodies he hooked me into was his Orb connection and allowed me to doodle around with some of the media he had stored on his computer back home. Very cool.
I'm not as up on this as I should be and as I plan to be, but this looks very similar to the SlingBox technology without the SlingBox as long as you have a TV tuner card or Windows Media PC. Even more interesting, it's free!
I'll be looking into this further.
