Microsoft's Anti-Malware Engineering Team has blogged that signatures are now available via the online scanner at Windows LIve Safety Center. The Windows Anti-Spyware Beta will be able to detect his after the 11/17/05 signature release. Detection and removal will be added to the Malicious Software Removal Tool in the December release.
The blog entry specifies that they are not removing or disabling Sony's XCP Software but the rootkit component published by First4Internet.
