Michael Parekh is one of my favorite "big picture" bloggers. He always sees that big picture when he's looking at issues in the computing and internet world and writes well about his thinking.
He's got a fascinating post motivated in part by some of the recent Tablet PC discussions bopping around the Tabletscape. On Tablet PCs and Consumer Electronics looks at those discussions, some of the well chronicled problems Tablet PCs have had gaining a foothold in the market place, and takes that discussion a step further into a broader picture of Consumer Electronics and some of the problems that proprietary systems bring to general acceptance.
Well worth a read. I think he's hit a number of things right on the money.
