Just when I talked myself out of taking a serious look at the Treo 700W Smartphone. My good buddy Steve Pryzyblski, (who is back working at Wayside Theatre and it is great to have another geekhead here, let me tell you) pointed me to this First Look review of the new phone by MobileTechReview. Apparently Verizon is going to make a dial up networking (DUN) option available in the coming months that will allow, (for a fee of course) the use of the phone as a modem for a computer. Here's a quote from the review:
In our meeting at CES, Verizon Wireless told us that an update would be coming in some months which adds DUN (really!). And they will have a tethering add-on plan which will be reasonably priced (est. $15/month) so you can use your Treo as a modem for your notebook.
