Some Sunday morning reading, viewing, and listening to share.
Free speech. Great concept. Lousy in practice. Most don’t get the concept no matter how much they pretend to. George Will has a great column on the issue sparked by the David Irving saga.
Have blogs reached their peak in numbers? Does it matter? (The fact that this article in the Washington Post comes more than a week after the discussion in the blogosphere says more than the article itself.)
And speaking of blogs, why all the concern over counting? Everything mankind has ever developed has been eventually made worse or irrelevant by applying metrics and statistics to try and maximize the money. Look at Ann Coulter. Wait, bad example. Tough to make irrelevant more irrelevant.
William F. Buckley, Jr. the grandfather of conservatives says simply “It Didn’t Work.” Pseudo-conservatives and irrelevant and erstwhile comedians (see above) will now say he is irrelevant.
Who says librarians don’t have a sense of humor. Since we haven’t had an Emu sighting here at The Wicked Stage in quite a bit, my good buddy and brilliant music director Steve Przybylski (I think he might start blogging soon!) pointed me to The Laughing Librarian. Lamas and librarians. Who’d a thunk it. Also check out the original Llama Song. Very funny stuff if you need a laugh, or a llama.
So, this is old news, but I just came across it. Apparently there is now a Church of SpongeBob. I’m just wondering what happens if someone comes up with negative editorial cartoons about the icon of this church?
If you haven’t yet made it to GottaBeMobile, Rob Bushway and Dennis Rice’s new community site, head on over for no other reason than to watch the video demos of TEO 3.0 and OneNote 2007. Great stuff.
