Microsoft has agreed to pay media giant Universal Music $1.00 per Zune in order to be able to make the Universal songbook available to Zune customers. Interesting. This is an entirely different approach than the Apple iTunes deal of paying royalties per song.
So, basically if I never loaded a Universal Music song on a Zune (assuming I bought one) Universal scores a buck off of my purchase.
Something tells me someone got held up in a dark alley.
