The only thing more prolific than news on spam these days is spam itself. News reports list the obivous that spam is increasing daily (9 out 10 emails according to this one from CNN) and my Inbox is certainly a testament to that. And now a judge sides with a spammer in a case against an anti-spammer.
We've got ludicrious laws that try to curb spam but do nothing but protect spammers, and idiot politicians who are just too greedy to do anything about it. Of course if your average Joe and Jane netizen didn't click on the fool things that would help some, but probably not much.
The reality is that spam won't go away, just like click-fraud won't go away, just like CRAPWARE won't go away because folks (and not just the bad guys-think banks that make money off of dope peddlars) make too much money on the deal.
