Wow. Those holding on dearly to their entrenched fortresses in Old Media land are having tough times of it these days, as the New Media of the Internet just keeps on marching along. I've heard and read some great ostrich-with-head-in-sand apporaches to this before but this quote from a panel at the 56th Annual National Cable & Telecommunications Association Confrence takes the cake.
Time Warner honcho, Richard Parsons apparently said this:
"The Googles of the word, they are the Custer of the modern world. We are the Sioux nation. They will lose this war if they go to war. The notion that the new kids on the block have taken over is a false notion."
Methinks he needs to read up on history just a little bit more and quit looking at the pictures.
