Maybe they thought that waiting until Monday when Michael Vick enters his guilty plea they'd get less news coverage on this one. I doubt it. They haven't proven to be that smart in awhile.
US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has resigned in an interesting twist in the new cycle game. Apparently the resignation came Friday, which would normally mean a release of the news on a Friday in August when everyone was focusing on getting out of town for the weekend. But somehow they held off to Monday morning. Perhaps they were just being considerate of all the media moguls' schedules.
In any event, the game is over for Gonzales, in one of the most embarrassing displays of hanging on for dear life we've seen in awhile.
