Wired’s DangerRoom blog has a story on the spin that Blackwater CEO Erik Prince was spewing in a Wall St. Journal editorial last week about his employees that have been charged with, well, with murder.
I’ve been fascinated with how BlackWater came to be and came to be so intrinsically a part of the cesspool in Iraq. Having read a bit about Blackwater and Prince, I’m not surprised by anything this guy will say or do. He’s a master at the game. Unfortunately the game he plays deals with death and destruction as a product.
He says his mercenaries and their role have been greatly misunderstood. I think he’s right. How can anyone understand something that is hidden so deftly behind such a wall of cowardly spin.
