AT&T announced large layoffs today, 12,000 of them. I sure hope the idiot and any other idiots along the management chain that approved the telemarketing idiocy I just experienced are a part of the number.
The phone rings. I get silence for a second, but as I’m preparing to hang up, I hear a taped recording. “ATI (I think it said ATI) is making this call to conduct telemarketing on behalf o AT&T. Please call…..”
I hung up before it could continue.
Who, in their right mind, left mind, any mind, without a mind, would possibly think that anyone would call back any number for a telemarketing campaign. Quite frankly, whoever convinced anyone that taped or robo telemarketing campaigns are good ideas anywhere should be fired. As should the executives who signed off on them. Yeah, I know there must be some suckers who follow the instructions, but honestly, think about this for a second. Do you really want marketing data from the folks who will respond to these kind of call? I mean really.
No wonder our economy is in such a mess.
Please, tell me, the idiots in marketing responsible for this nonsense have been laid off.
