Very, very cool. After opening Wayside Theatre’s 48th Season on Sunday with a thrilling opening night performance of Man of La Mancha, I spent yesterday taking the day off, watching and blogging a bit about the Apple Keynote and AT&T’s growing FAIL rep, and doing some catch up on mail, bills, the honey-do list, and other things.
Low and behold in the middle of last week’s tech rehearsal period, I received a package I’ve been expecting, but didn’t get a chance to open when it arrived. In the package was Hugh MacLeod’s new book, Ignore Everybody: and 39 Other Keys to Creativity (affiliate link.) Actually it was the autographed copy that showed up last week. My purchased copy showed up at the office this morning. Hugh ran a special deal for I believe his first 1000 paid customers of the book. If you were one of those and made a request he sent you another copy of the book, autographed by him, for free. Sweet.
Hugh MacLeod is someone who I admire and follow quite a bit. I love his thinking and his cartoons made famous on his blog (and elsewhere) gapingvoid. In fact, a gapingvoid widget has appeared on this blog every since it became available (see the first column to the right below the category cloud). I’m looking forward to the book and even though I haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend you check it out, based on Hugh’s past work. Hugh’s take on marketing, the Internet, the world, etc… is more than worth the price of admission.
Looking forward to this.
